Kia ora bloggers hope you are all doing well in lockdown. Lately in my maths google meets we have been learning about bedmas. Mrs davies has been teaching us on how to work out bedmas and asked us to make a video explaining  it our best. Me and Ella made a canva on our utopia task. For this task we had to chose a topic to make our utopia world on and we chose no crime! We added what we would like the world to be like the sports it would have and some landmarks. We also added jobs and we locate on the island fiji. If you made a utopia world what would you like to solve in it?

Where does water come from

 

 

Kia ora bloggers today we made a poster about where water comes from. In this poster you can't really read it but water comes from a aquifer. It starts from the ocean then evaporates to the clouds then it comes down as rain. Then soaks threw the soil and then lives in a aquifer it is like a cave deep underground. Then that water comes threw the pipes and that's  where our water comes from.  Before seeing this did you know where water came from?

matariki kite

Kia ora bloggers today I finished my matariki kite art! For this we had to draw a taniwha or a Tawhirimatea on draft paper then draw it on the kite paper. We then had to colour it with pastels then colour the back with watercolour. This was hard when I drew it but overall it was very fun and it turned out amazing. Have you ever made a kite before?

 

My STEAM project

Kia ora bloggers! Today we did a STEAM project I was in a group with Ella d,Brooke,Makenzie and Pandora. We had 10 newspaper and a metre long stripe of tape we had to get as many books on it as we can. My group did not make a structure in time but we worked as team really well. See more about it in my slide.

Egg drop

 

Kia ora bloggers! On Wensday we did a steam project what we had to do was to make a  product with only things we were given that we put in a egg and dropped it from a 3 metre high stair case. I was in a team with Ella d,Brooke k, AJ and Talia. Our egg did shatter but our team worked really well. Do you think if you did this you would have a good idea and your egg would not brake. 

Equipment:  

• 3 sheets of A4 photocopy paper

• A plastic bag

• 1m of string

• 1 sheet of A5 thin card

• Cellotape

• Scissors

• Paper to sketch design on

weather in Maori

 Kia ora bloggers! And welcome back to my blog today in my class we made a scratch. Where we had to ask "hows the weather today" and reply in maori. This was tricky but I think it turned out pretty good. We had the decision to do it ourselves or with a buddie I chose to do it with Brooke. What whether do you prefer fine,hot or cold. Kia ora bloggers this is Isla here. Today I thought I would put up my inquiry to show you what I have been working on. This was very fun to do and I loved doing it. In Korimako this term we have been working on a civilization in a ecosystem of or choice. What ecosystem would you choose to live in if you were put in one with nothing and how would you survive?

This week it is Maths Week and today we did a golden spiral. We had to read 2 pieces of text and watch 2 videos on how to do the work and some on how to make it correct. The pattern of the numbers are 0,1,1,2,3,,5,8,13,21,34,55. The real name for it is Fibonacci Sequence.

My mirror

Hi my name is Isla and this week at my school we had book week. We got to make an artwork based on a fariytale we could pick either humpty dumpty,The three little pigs,a fairy or a princess.I chose a princess how I did this was we got our school photo, I  cut out our face and glued it onto the princesses face.

I coloured the rest of the princess in with pens. I added a little twist to mine and gave myself a makeover!

I love capuchin monkeys.This is my information report about a capuchin monkey. I love capuchin monkeys when I am older I want one as a pet. I am loving this task because I have learnt so much about this animal. Do you think you would want a monkey? I hope you like this.

10 years in the future Isla

This is my story I made up about something I like but might not like in ten years when I am 20. I made up this random story on how I got sick from an apple that had a bug in it. I really liked doing this I think this stretched my imagination. I hope you like it.

The bouncy egg

 This was my bouncy egg science experiment I waited about  48 hours with it just sitting in white vinegar. How did it go you may ask well it worked it was squishy,bouncy & Clear. I loved this it was very fun although it popped I still think this worked amazingly.
